PLA is often a straightforward starting point for detailed models and visual prototypes. The exact grade and printer still determine the finished result.

Choose PLA for the job.

Use PLA as a starting point for models, teaching aids and appearance-led prototypes. If the part will see heat, repeated load or outdoor exposure, compare another material and test the intended conditions.

Use the grade-specific print profile.

Record nozzle, bed, speed, layer height and cooling settings. A generic PLA range is context, not a finished SunDots specification; use the applicable technical sheet and printer guidance.

Verify the part, not just the spool.

  • Print a small representative geometry.
  • Check detail, fit and surface finish.
  • Keep the profile and sample together.
