Next, we are looking toward Shantou, Guangdong. The 25th Shantou–Chenghai International Toys & Gifts Fair will be held at the Shantou International Convention and Exhibition Center from October 29 to November 1, 2026. Sundots is planning to participate and hopes to talk with toy brands, designers, buyers and creators about how 3D printing materials can help turn an idea into a physical prototype sooner.

A fair for the toys and gifts industry

The Shantou–Chenghai International Toys & Gifts Fair (CITF) covers toys, gifts and related upstream and downstream industries. An English introduction from the Shantou municipal government lists AI toys, designer toys, building blocks and other toy categories, along with concurrent exhibitions for toy accessories, machinery and IP licensing. For international buyers, it offers a place to discuss product design, materials, components and manufacturing needs.

The four-day schedule published by the organizers combines trade purchasing and public experiences: the first 2.5 days are for professional buyers and the remaining 1.5 days are open to the public. Check the fair's official channels for visitor registration, opening hours and entry rules.

Where does 3D printing fit into toy design?

Developing a toy or creative gift often starts with its shape, size, structure and feel. 3D printing lets design teams make a physical prototype first, compare how it feels in the hand, how it assembles and how it looks, then discuss the materials and manufacturing approach for later stages. Personalized decorative pieces, structural models and small-batch design checks can also begin with a clearly defined project.

Sundots hopes to discuss these practical questions: Does the piece need to be rigid or soft? Is it for visual display, or is it a structure that must bend repeatedly? When designers, purchasing teams and material suppliers examine the same sample together, they can more easily discuss what needs to be tested next.

From PLA and PETG to flexible TPE and TPU

The Sundots material catalog includes PLA, PETG, TPU and TPE. Appearance models and assembly prototypes call for attention to dimensions and surface finish. For projects involving touch or bending, it may be useful to compare specific flexible material grades, hardness and printing conditions. TPE and TPU are areas we hope to explore in depth with creators.

Material selection must be based on the actual piece: the printer, feed method, structure, intended use and test results all matter. Read material reports within the scope of their specific grade and document. Finished toys intended for children require separate assessment of their design, component sizes, intended age and target market requirements.

Coming to Shantou? Tell us about your project in advance

We are still planning our participation in the fair. International customers who already plan to attend are welcome to contact Sundots in advance. Tell us about your project, the materials you would like to explore and a convenient time to talk. Once our arrangements are confirmed, we can check whether a meeting during the fair is possible.

If you are looking for 3D printing filament, material samples, wholesale supply or OEM/ODM support, please include your printer model, intended use, material preferences and estimated volume when you get in touch. This information helps identify the samples and technical documents to discuss next.

  • Appearance, assembly and flexible-structure prototypes for toys and creative gifts
  • Material samples for design studios, educational projects and creators
  • Discuss filament wholesale, colors and OEM/ODM options based on specific needs

From conversations in Shanghai to the next creation

At WTCC 2026 in Shanghai, Sundots brought printers, materials and creative works to visitors. Next, we hope to connect more closely with the toy, design and manufacturing communities, bringing questions about color, feel and structure into discussions about specific materials and samples.

For now, this article records our intention to participate and the topics we want to explore. We will update this page once the final booth, on-site displays and meeting arrangements are confirmed. For the fair's schedule and entry information, follow the organizer's latest announcements.
