2076S- archive begins with the idea of a ritual relic from the future, weaving bodies, plants and mechanical structures into a symbiotic entity. Human figures sit in a circle, with intersecting curves extending between them: at once bone, armour and vessels for an unknown energy.
Pointed leaves growing outwards from the top disrupt the stillness below, holding the work in tension between meditation and expansion, shelter and intrusion.
“Archive” points to a memory that has yet to happen. As technology increasingly enters perception and belief, how will we understand the body, and in what forms will we preserve our imaginings of life? Through digital modelling, 2076S- archive becomes an object between a sacred relic, a biological specimen and a future installation, its cool metallic surface a meeting place for spirituality and matter.
